Bow River Basin Council (BRBC) announced today the release of the Bow River Basin State of the Watershed report! Program Coordinator Brooke Kapeller wrote, “This is a major milestone for us, and we couldn’t have done it without the dedication of our amazing volunteer members who contributed to this report’s development. We are deeply grateful for your support and hard work.”
View the report here (direct link) or on the State of the Watershed page of BRBC website.
The report released today is still a draft version and more work will be done in 2025 to further refine and enhance the report.
BRBC welcomes any feedback you may have and encourages you to reach out if you’d like to contribute your time or ideas to help us improve it.
ALSO NOTE that the report includes links to sub-watersheds including Bighill Creek, at the following link: Sub-Watersheds | BRBC_State of the Watershed
Many thanks to the BRBC for all their work on this. This report can be used by basin residents, landowners, farmers, ranchers, educators, researchers, local politicians, land managers, and land regulators to make informed decisions on what they would like the basin and the subbasins (subwatershed) to look like, now and into the future.
